Day  2  Fri  21  Feb                Joppa, Simon the Tanner’s  home, Tel Aviv 

Arrive at Ben Gurion airportOn this day we will travel to Jaffa (Joppa) where Peter stayed with Simon the Tanner (Acts 10:13). This is also the place where Jonah sailed from when he went toTarshish. From here you will have a great view of Tel Aviv.  This evening we will share our first Jewish meal together.

Day  3  Sat  22 Feb                Biblical Gardens, Caesarea, Aqueduct, Mt. Carmel 

We will visit the intriguing Biblical Gardens at Neot Kedumin. Here you will see many different plants and trees mentioned in the Bible, an olive press, and a threshing floor. We will drive along the Mediterranean coastline to Caesarea having the opportunity to see the archaeological ruins of the Roman Amphitheatre. While at Caesarea, we take a few minutes to look at the ancient aqueduct. From here we will drive north to the top of Mt. Carmel and see the place where Elijah killed the 400 prophets of Baal. From a view point on Mt. Carmel we will look down on the Valley of Jezreel and also see the Israeli Airforce base. Then we will drive by Megiddo, the site of Armageddon.  The book of Revelation talks about this final battle (Revelation 16:16).

Day  4  Sun  23  Feb               Galilee – Nazareth, Cana of Galilee, Sea of Galilee 

Drive through the Galilean landscape to Nazareth where Jesus grew up. We will go to Nazareth Village, which depicts things as they were when Jesus was a boy. We will enjoy a unique lunch while at Nazareth Village. Drive via Cana of Galilee where Jesus had turned the water into wineGo to the Baptism site which is located on the Jordan River. There will be time for those wishing to be baptized or re-baptized in the Jordan River. We will take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, (The Bible is filled with stories of Jesus on this sea). On the boat will be a time celebration and sharing

Day  5  Mon  24  Feb               Galilee –Mt. of Beatitudes –Capernaum - Golan Heights 

Go to the Mt. Of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the inspiring Sermon on the Mount. We will go down to the shore of the Sea of Galilee where Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes. From here we will go to Capernaum, the place that Jesus chose to center his ministry.  We will see the remains of Peter’s house. Continue to Golan Heights to visit the Banias, site of Caesarea Philippi. There will be briefing on the history and security of the Golan Heights. Enjoy a scenic drive down the Jordan Valley to the Dead Sea.

Day 6  Tue  25  Feb                  Fun in the Sun,  a day of Relaxation at the Dead Sea 

Enjoy a wonderful, day at the Dead Sea which is 417 meters below sea level. You can have a refreshing time for dips in the therapeutic salt mineral water of the Dead Sea, go for a walk or just sit in the sun.

Day  7  Wed  26  Feb                Massada, Ein Gedi, Qumran 

Take the Cable Car to the top of the mountain of Massada, ruins of King Herod’s mountain top fortress and last stronghold of the Jewish revolt against the Romans in 73 C.E. Then on to Ein Gedi. Take a fun-filled hike up to Ein Gedi Falls, and for the more adventurous we will go to the Upper Falls. This is the desert oasis where David hid from King Saul (1 Samuel 23:29). Stop briefly at Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discoveredTravel up to Jerusalem through the Judean Wilderness. As we ascend up into the hills of Jerusalem. We will stop at a view point and pray for Jerusalem and the country of Israel (Psalm 122:6).

Day  8  Thu  27  Feb                 Jerusalem 

Drive to Mount Olives to enjoy a view of the city of Jerusalem. Walk down the Palm Sunday path to Dominus Flevit, where Jesus wept over the city. Continue to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus spent the night and agonized in prayer for God’s will to be done (We will have some time to mediate in the garden). Visit the Church of All Nations. On to Mount Zion to see King David’s Tomb and the Upper Room (Acts 2). Enjoy seeing Western Wall and some time to pray. Visit the Pool of Bethesada (John 5) and Saint Anne’s Church where we will sing a couple songs and observe the wonderful acoustics of the church.

Day  9  Fri  28  Feb                  Jerusalem 

Go to the Garden Tomb and have a relaxing walk around the beautiful garden area and we will have time for communion together. We will view the Hill of Golgotha’s where Jesus died (Matthew 27:33-35). Spend time at Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial, visiting the museum. Continue to Ramat Rachel for a view of Bethlehem, the place Jesus was born.

In the morning we will have an Israeli soldier share his experiences of what life is like to be a soldier in Israel. The rest of the day is for shopping or free time to do what you want in Jerusalem.

Depart to Canada, with your mind and heart filled with wonderful memories and experiences or transfer to the airport to extend your journey on an optional extension to Turkey.

Day  12  Mon  2  Mar               Ephesus - Pamukkale 

After breakfast visit the interesting and unforgettable remains of Ephesus, the Archaeological Museum and the Basilica of Saint John. Continue on to Pamukkale once known as the ancient Greco-Roman thermal city of Hierapolis which was originally built around a warm-water spring. This was Philip the Evangelist’s home. Next tour the beautiful snow white ‘Frozen waterfalls’ and see the Roman thermal baths, theater, main streets, gates and Necropolis.

Day  13  Tue  3  Mar                Philadelphia – Sardes – Pergamon - Kucukkuyu 

In the morning be refreshed in the Pamukkale Thermal pools which are a natural formation of mineral springs set on massive travertine terraces built up over millennia by limestone deposits left behind by running water. Visit Philadelphia and Sardes (Rev: 3-1-6) the capital of ancient Lydia. Visit the Temple of Cybele and Diana, which later became a church, then to the famous synagogue. Visit Pergamon, the Acropolis and the Asclepion. Drive to Kucukkuyu for overnight.

Day  14  Wed  4  Mar              Canakklae – Istanbul 

Drive to Troy, the legendary town in the Iliad of Homer, the site of the Trojan Wars. Enjoy a relaxing ferry ride across the Dardanelles.

Day  15  Thu  5  Mar                Istanbul, Topkapi Palace Museum, Grand Bazaar 

Start the day with a tour at Topkapi Palace Museum, which contains the treasures belonging to the Ottoman Empire. Visit the Hippodrome Square and the Hagia Sophia Church (built in the 6th century, once was the biggest Christian Church in the world. Continue to tour of the interesting city of Istanbul. Istanbul is a major city in Turkey (15 million people) that straddles Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus Strait. Its Old City reflects cultural influences of the many empires that once ruled here. Finish the day by visiting and shopping at the world famous Grand Covered Bazaar.
